Abstract Introduction General knowledge of most common genitourinary diseases is often lacking. In this survey we evaluated the attention given by patients and general practitioners to genitourinary symptoms, and particularly to hematuria and potential early signs of genitourinary cancer. Introduction: A general awareness of the most common genitourinary diseases is often lacking.The aim of the present study was to investigate the attention of the general practitioner and of the patient to the genitourinary diseases. An incomplete medical history and/or an inadequate physical examination might be responsible of late diagnosis and improper management. Use of Dual-Energy Computed Tomography for Evaluation of Genitourinary Diseases

Since its clinical inception a decade ago, dual-energy computed tomography has expanded the array of computed tomography imaging tools available to the practicing abdominal radiologist. Of note, diagnostic solutions for imaging-based evaluation of genitourinary diseases, foremost kidney calculi and renal tumors characterization, represent the apogee applications of dual-energy computed tomography in abdominal imaging. This article reviews clinical applications of dual-energy computed tomography for the assessment of genitourinary diseases.

Abstract Exertional hematuria can be considered a subcategory of exercise-induced hematuria, characterized by painless appearance of erythrocytes in urine after recent physical exercise, not directly attributable to external traumatic injuries to the genitourinary system, and spontaneously resolving with rest.
